Due
to the current requirement to continue bringing our customers good parts
at affordable
pricing, we have not had a chance to let anyone stop work to go to any
of the events this last
year. We are glad to be as busy as we are and hope to see all you Audi
and VW at some of
this years events.
Watch out for the EVO inside mobiles, they will be all dressed and sporting
our new Logo
sometime this spring!!
In the near future we will be also creating sport decals to advertise
our
shop, make sure to check them out. Designed by our own Troy Plexman
the decals should try
to out shine all others. Stop in anytime to pick one up!!
If you have any images or film footage of your
Audi or VW club and would like to see them on our
site just contact me evodesign.

"Parts
And Progress"
Evolved
Auto Recyclers not just a wrecker with 'cars draining into the ground'
"I'm on Broadway and don't see an auto wrecker." Before
they put up their brushed-aluminum
sign, Evolved Auto Recyclers owner Phil Sweeney and manager Troy Plexman
recieved a lot of
harried cell calls from used auto parts seekers who coudn't find their
wrecking yard - despite
driving past it several times.
"Yes, I'm at 1940 Broadway and there's no auto wreckers
here" Evolved Auto Wreckers is not
your typical auto wreckers - it's an indoor used-car grave-yard where
vehicles are disassembled
as quickly as they are recieved and then warehoused. "We're a smaller
facility, so it helps to take
apart the cars as they come in." Plexman explained. "It's
not your usual auto wrecker that has a
bunch of cars draining into the ground. We're a cement slab, there's
no ground absorption here."
The auto recycler, which opened in February and supplies parts
for Volkswagen and Audi vehicles,
1985 or newer, operates out of a 10,000-square foot shop on Broadway
in Port Coquitlam. Since
opening, Plexman figures they've stripped down about 25 cars. "It
takes one person who knows what
they're doing a solid day," he said.
In addition to aquiring cars fron ICBC, Plexman notes thath the
company also recieves cars from
the United States. (Instead of buying a tow truck, they decided on a
white Hummer H1, which was
cheaper, as durable and much more fun to drive to work he explains)
When they recieve a car it is stripped like this: first the interior
parts, doors, dashboard and trunk
lids are taken off. Then, they drain the fuel, anti-freeze and any other
fluids. The engine is then
tagged and all other parts sorted and stored.
So, explains Plexman, if a customer walks through the door and
asks for a left rear tail light
assembly for a 1991 Volkswagen Passat, he knows exactly where to look.
"We want to sell Volkswagen
and Audi used parts, make the structure easy for us and the customer
and want to have a friendly and
clean environment," explains Plexman.
And, Plexman adds, the company isn't just about used parts. "We
will also carry many used cars
and quality rebuilt autos. Specializing in VW and Audi autos allows
us to have the items needed
to rebuild a car with all the right parts and make sure they all get
repaired or replaced with the
original
OEM parts that are of good quality.
